In Minnesota there are many beautiful lakes, Little Rush Lake is one of them. Don't leave Little Rush Lake without first going for a hike along the South Lake Portage, and Lum Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. There are wonderful sites to discover along the Height of Land Portage, and get covered with water paddling on Cascade River. This lake is so wonderful.

| Echo is a nice lake to stop and drop a line when in the Schroeder tofte area. It is just up the road from Nine mile lake campground and has an easy to catch supply of small trout. I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
