There's so much to do here at Little North Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a nice place for that. Lakes are nice; Little Gunflint Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Little North Lake. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cascade River; there's good hiking along the South Lake Portage. | |

This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Height of Land Portage, and Little North Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Gunflint Pines is a brilliant local campground.
A nice place for whitewater
paddling close to Little North Lake is Cascade River, and naturally, this is a wonderful vicinity for folks who like lakes, Susana Lake is a lake in the vicinity. For the period of the summertime months at Little North Lake temperatures
are typically in the 70's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's, and night lows at Little North Lake during the wintertime ordinarily fall into the-10's.

I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
