If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cloquet River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Rose Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Spirit Mountain, and Leora Lake is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Cloquet River Inn is a glorious spot to camp nearby. Be careful coming to Leora Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. Lakes are good; Winkle Lake is a lake that's near Leora Lake; Ico Campground is a great local campground. The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |

We are always listed as a resort with cabin rentals. our 7 site seasonal campground that has not had an opening for several years, so it is never listed under campgrounds.
