Many people like to go to Lace Lake. All through the warm days of summer here at Lace Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Lace Lake. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Devil Track River, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Grand Marais is a fine place to spend a

| | night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a splendid spot to do that, and skiing at Lutsen is one of those things you just have to do. The annual precipitation here at Lace Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. at Lace Lake you can take a hike along the Stairway Portage, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Superior Inn And Suites. The Long Portage is a wonderful hiking trail close to Lace Lake; if the weather is good, you can go
for a hike along the South Lake Portage. This lake is so wonderful. Lace Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, East Bearskin Campground is a glorious local campground, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not
explore Road Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Cascade River offers some delightful whitewater, and Squint Lake is a delightful lake nearby.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |

 | 10 miles away Echo is a nice lake to stop and drop a line when in the Schroeder tofte area. It is just up the road from Nine mile lake campground and has an easy to catch supply of small trout.
