In Minnesota there are many beautiful lakes, King Lake is one of them. Having a tremendous time in the Mesabi Range is painless. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Lakes? Sure, Barwise Lake is close at hand; not far from King Lake you get some tremendous water scenery at King Lake Group Lake Outlet Structure Dam. Good hiking is available along the Wasson Lake Trail, and if you came to camp Jko Campground is a good location to do that. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Bass Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Wilson Lake Trail. camping at Prairie Lake Campground is always a glorious experience. All through the warmest time of the year highs here at King Lake get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in
the 10's, and night lows all through the winter for King Lake tend to be in the-20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around King Lake; Skeeter
Lake Trail System is a perfect local trail; if you need a site to stay Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids is a great choice.

There is plenty to do at the resort too. Swan Lake is known for its water clarity throughout the summer. Fishing is almost always good with a healthy supply of sunfish, crappies, northern and walleyes. Largemouth bass are definitely the most sought after fish the past few years with most of them released again after they are weighed and their picture is taken for our ''fishing report'' board. Our swimming area is safely marked off with no dangerous drop offs. We have plenty of sand for sunbathing and sandcastle building.
When you're not in or on the water you can play volleyball, badminton, ''fun'' frisbee golf, basketball, pitch horseshoes or play bocce ball. All recreational equipment can be checked out at no charge. Our game room is always busy ... |
