Kauppi Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. All through the days of summer highs here at Kauppi Lake get into the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Kauppi Lake dip into the-10's. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop by Strand Lake close to Kauppi Lake; whitewater paddling is great

| | on St. Louis River. This lake is so wonderful. Golden Pond is a pleasant lake close to Kauppi Lake; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Duluth. Kauppi Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Budget Host Virginia is a nice spot to get some rest, and there's some exciting stuff to see at Stephen Slimak Wildlife Pond Dam | |

Cloquet River is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Kauppi Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ico Campground is a fine site for that.

The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
