During the warm days of summer at Jones Lake highs are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Jones Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Hit the slopes at Afton Alps around here; not far from Jones Lake you'll find Birch Lake which       is a picturesque lake. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Jones Lake. Stay the night at Mr Sippi Yacht Brokerage Bar; after a long day outdoors Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Red Wing, MN is a good location to spend a night or two. Jones Lake gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Red Wing Golf Club,                  and dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Red Wing. This is a popular place for folks from Red Wing, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Wildcat Lake. There are swamps here too; Buffalo Slough is nearby. There's so much to do here at Jones Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Island Campground is a great site for that. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Welch Village, and Dam Number Three is a place that is in the vicinity of Jones Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
