There's fine hiking along the Granite River Portage, and after a long day outdoors Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a nice location to spend a night or two. Stay the night at Gunflint Pines, and there are perfect locations to explore along the Rib Lake Trail. A lake close by is Swollen Ankle Lake; Temperance River has a glorious whitewater paddling       spot close by. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Jester Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 10's, and night lows at Jester Lake during the winter typically plunge into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Poplar River is so much fun. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things close to Jester Lake. There's so much to do here at Jester Lake                  that you need to camp here for a while, Baker Lake Campground is a tremendous place for that, and what would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Jester Lake without first going for a hike along the Pine Portage; needless to say Dawkins Creek flows through this region.
