I also vacationed at Jefferson as a child but cannot remember name of place where dad took us. Remember that there were cabins on one side and we also camped on the othere side of the lake. Also, remember when we were out fishing we passed under a bridge to Lake Henry to catch some of the biggest yellow bellies I've ever seen. Want to take my kids and grandkids there

Totally agree this has happened on several lakes I have fished, most lakes put a three or four hour recreational regulation on the lakes. I agree the people have become so self centered, and it is all about them. They should be spending quality time fishing instead of all this time in high speed on seperate play toy's that is not quality time.

Unfortunately, for those of us living on Big Jeff the recreational traffic has become a huge nuisance. Once treasured as a tranquil, beautiful fishing/vacation lake, it has now become a recreational/developmental area. If you intend to visit for peace and quiet you'll have to be sure to get up at least at sunrise or before to do any decent fishing without the roar of recreational watercraft, to avoid having your fishing lines run over by those water skiing or cruising pontoons disregarding the regulations of staying out the designated distance from the ends of the docks, or your boat rocking and nearly capsizing from the waves created by the same. I grew up vacationing on Big Jeff and don't recall any of the behavior I've witness over the last decade. So if you visit, please be respectful of others using the lake. Let's start protecting our beautiful natural resource.

If you need a spot to stay Americinn - St Peter, Mn is a magnificent choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Jefferson has to offer, you can camp at Camp Patterson.
