A great site to camp here at Island Lake is Loon Lake Tavern and Resort, and going for a hike on the Goose Lake Trail System is always a good adventure. The amount of precipitation that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February is the month       with the least moisture. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Island Lake. There are other spots here than Island Lake, for example Stewart Lake. During your spree to Island Lake you'll meet some folks from Brainerd for sure; camping at Highview Campgrounds is always a pleasant experience. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Rodeway Inn Pine River is a fine choice, and close by you stumble on the North Country                  Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. For the duration of the summer at Island Lake highs are generally in the 70's while night lows are mostly in the 50's.
