Get covered with water paddling on St. Croix River, and Irons Pool is good enough to spend more than a day at, Paint Rock Spring Campground is a good local campground. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Irons Pool, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Irons Pool. There's tremendous hiking along the Minnesota-Wisconsin                  Boundary State Trail. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to make out at Irons Pool Dam in close proximity to Irons Pool. Lakes? Sure, Lake Olive is in close proximity. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lower Tamarack River; Wilbur Lake is a tremendous lake close by.
