     Going for a hike on the Lake Erin Trail is always a good adventure, and a good close by hotel is Trappers Landing Lodge. Very pleasant water scenery is available at Blackwater Lake Dam near I X L Lake; do schedule some time to take a look at Bungey Bay if you have a chance. Near I X L Lake you find the North Country Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and Rodeway Inn Pine River is a glorious spot to get some rest. The yearly precipitation here at I X L  
   Lake is about average; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Any time is a great time at I X L Lake if you fancy the outdoors. You could also explore Little Woman Lake since you're here at I X L Lake; it's nearby, and I X L Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Deer Acres is a perfect local campground. This lake is so wonderful. The Goose Lake Trail System
 
               is a magnificent hiking trail next to I X L Lake, and people from Brainerd love to come here. This lake is so wonderful.
A lake nearby is Widow Lake, and a great spot to camp here at I X L Lake is Austin's Swamp. High temperatures at I X L Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 10's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at I X L Lake temperatures plunge to the-10's.

...nesota campgrounds and we stay here several times each summer. We love that it is right on a lake and that many of the sites have their own little beach. The campground is quiet and the sites˙ are screened from one another for privacy. I hate to even post a review out of the fear that our favorite camping secret will become everyone's camping favorite. It is close enough to Longville˙ and Remer that you can run in for ice and supplies as needed. One small hint that I will pass on is that you might want to stop in Longville or Hackensack to buy your˙ firewood as the campground does not have any for sale.Mabel Lake campground is not on a campsite reservation system but we have never had a problem finding a site here. We discovered this campground as a result of finding one of the more popular Leech Lake campgrounds full. Once we found Mabel Lake, we never bothered with the other campgrounds in the area again. Mabel Lake is rustic so those seeking hook-ups, flush toilets, and running water best move on to the more crowded campgrounds on Leech Lake and leave us to our own peaceful lakesi...
