     Lots of people from Mankato-North Mankato come to Horseshoe Lake, and Shady Oaks Campground is a good campground nearby. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Mankato is a glorious location to spend a night or two; Cedar Grove Camp Ground is a glorious local campground. Summertime highs at Horseshoe Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 20's with temperatures  
   at Horseshoe Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Lakes are such serene places, why not take a look at McGibneys Lake near Horseshoe Lake, and swing by Swan Lake Outlet it's a nice spot to check out.
From a rain point of view Horseshoe Lake is a pretty common location; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. You'll find a pretty lake called Horseshoe Lake near Horseshoe
 
               Lake; if you need a location to stay Americinn Madelia is a good choice. Horseshoe Lake truly is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. Gotta ski! Mount Kato is a pleasant place to do that.

I loved Cedar Grove Campgrounds!!! I have some wonderful memories of this place. I was wondering if anyone knew if Cedar Grove campground is still open? I used to camp here as a child growing up and we stopped camping here due to the fact that we were told that it was being mined for the sand. Does anyone know if this is true? I would love to start camping there if they are open....
