This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. The yearly precipitation here at Holmes Lake is about average; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This location, the Mesabi Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. If you came to camp Swan Lake Resort is a good spot to do that; going for a hike along the Wilson Lake Trail       will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Balsam Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids is a fine location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Holmes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jko Campground is a perfect location for that, and do take a hike on the Wasson Lake Trail. Be careful coming to Holmes Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again.                  After a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids is a good spot to spend a night or two. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Holmes Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Holmes Lake temperatures descend to the-20's.
