The amount of rainfall that falls at Holmes Lake is close to the national average; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. And that's not everything you can do here in the Mesabi Range. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Holmes Lake. Take a hike on the Wasson Lake Trail, and if you need a place to stay Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids is       a nice choice. Swan Lake Resort is a great campground nearby, and a good close by hotel is Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop at Isaac Lake near Holmes Lake, and going for a hike along the Wilson Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. So much exciting stuff in the Mesabi Range, just incredible. If you came for an overnight stay Jko Campground is a nice location                  to camp, also Balsam Lake Dam is worth going to if you're here. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Skeeter Lake Trail System, and you'll locate a charming lake called Lower Balsam Lake. Through the summertime months at Holmes Lake highs are commonly in the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's.
