Bemidji Koa Kampground is a great campground nearby; if you need a location to stay Quality Inn Bemidji is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Buena Vista is just what you need, and if you get bored of Hirts Lake you could also stop by close by Newman Lake. Hirts Lake is pretty waterless ordinarily; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hirts Lake is a magnificent

| | place to visit for more than one day, KOA Kampgrounds is a magnificent place to camp nearby, and Hirts Lake is not the only place close by, Apple Lake is a close by lake. High temperatures at Hirts Lake all through the months of summer are in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's.
