This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Americinn - Two Harbors, Mn is a delightful choice; Big Blaze Camp and Trailer Park is a tremendous campground nearby. Do go to Twin Lakes close to Highland Lake, it's a pretty lake; a nice place for whitewater paddling is Knife River. The amount of precipitation that falls at Highland Lake is close to the national average; most       of the rain falls during June, and the driest month is February. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things close to Highland Lake. Good hiking is available along the Seven Beaver Snowmobile Trail. Summertime highs at Highland Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 10's, and overnight lows at Highland Lake all through the wintertime usually                  drop into the-10's. A fine close by hotel is Larsmont Cottages, and get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Stewart River.
