Lake Marie is a lake around here, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Lutsen. Lakes are great; Jake Lake is a lake that's near Lake Helen, and after a long day outdoors East Bay Suites is a good spot to spend a night or two. Whitewater paddling is good on Devil Track River, and pleasant hiking is available along the Long Portage. This lake is so wonderful. Cascade River       has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there are great locations to discover along the Stairway Portage. Be careful coming to Lake Helen, you might not ever want to return home again. Don't leave Lake Helen without first going for a hike along the South Lake Portage, and Super 8 Grand Marais is a brilliant location to get some rest. At Lake Helen during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down                  into the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Lake Helen. This lake is so wonderful. An average amount of precipitation falls at Lake Helen; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
