Hartley Lake gets a typical amount of rain; most of the rain falls throughout July, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Scooty Lake. to do here in the Mesabi Range. Good hiking is available along the Wasson Lake Trail. Lakes are great; Hartley Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Hartley Lake. If you need a site to stay Country Inn By Carlson Grand Rapids is a nice choice; camping at Jko Campground is always a splendid experience.

There is plenty to do at the resort too. Swan Lake is known for its water clarity throughout the summer. Fishing is almost always good with a healthy supply of sunfish, crappies, northern and walleyes. Largemouth bass are definitely the most sought after fish the past few years with most of them released again after they are weighed and their picture is taken for our ''fishing report'' board.
