There are some good whitewater spots on Cloquet River, and Super 8 Cloquet is a nice location to get some rest. Camping at Big Lake Resort is always a delightful experience; if you need a place to stay Americinn - Cloquet, Mn is a wonderful choice. Hardwood Lake gets very little rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain while February is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Hardwood Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the night is rather colder of course, frequently in the 50's. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend St. Louis River, and an afternoon playing golf at Big Lake Golf Course is always a pleasure. Hardwood Lake is not far at all from Duluth. Lakes are glorious; Lost Lake is a lake that's close to Hardwood Lake.
