If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hanson Lake. Not far       from Hanson Lake, you'll stumble on Kangas Lake which is a gorgeous lake; going for a hike on the Kelly Trail is always a great adventure. After a long day outdoors Budget Host Motel Ely is a great place to spend a night or two, and there are nice locations to explore along the Crooked Lake Trail. Taking a little journey to nearby Kangas Bay is a great idea, and get soaked paddling on Stony River. This lake is so wonderful.
