Lakes are tremendous; Romance Lake is a lake that's near Gulf Lake. Gulf Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Sawbill Campground is a good local campground, and don't leave Gulf Lake without first going for a hike along the Gneiss Lake Portage. There are good places to look at along the Maraboeuf Lake Portage, and it's a glorious       idea to stop at Sea Gull River. At Gulf Lake all through the months of summer highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Gulf Lake. Gulf Lake in fact is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Going for a hike on the Gneiss Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a great place to get some                  rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Gull Lake.
