     The beauty of Gulf Lake attracts many people from all around. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Go for a hike on the Gneiss Trail. Gulf Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. High temperatures at Gulf Lake during the summertime months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 10's, and through  
   the dark hours in the winter at Gulf Lake temperatures descend to the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Gulf Lake is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Sawbill Campground is a nice place to camp nearby, and there's pleasant hiking along the Gneiss Lake Portage. Take a side tour to Sea Gull River, and don't leave Gulf Lake without first going for a hike along the Maraboeuf Lake Portage. What would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen, and do explore
 
               Gull Lake, it's a gorgeous lake.
Gunflint Pines is a good campground nearby, and a beautiful lake like Romance Lake is a tremendous location to stop at.
