Everybody nearby loves skiing at Spirit Mountain; get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Midway River. For the period of the warm months here at Grand Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 10's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Grand Lake drop into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.  | The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
