High temperatures at Gorman Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's with temperatures at Gorman Lake dipping down into the-20's through winter nights. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Big Fork, and getting to Johnson       Creek from Gorman Lake is painless. Budget Host Inn Grand Rapids is a great place to get some rest. Gorman Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, North Star Campground is a great local campground, and magnificent hiking is available along the Cutfoot Sioux Trail. From a rainfall point of view Gorman Lake is a rather common place; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
