At Golden Pond all through the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 10's, and overnight lows at Golden Pond all through the winter ordinarily plunge into the-10's. Not much precipitation falls here at Golden Pond; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile       is the driest month. The scenery at Stephen Slimak Wildlife Pond Dam right next door to Golden Pond is beautiful, and Pine River Campground is a great campground here. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Walt's Cloquet River Inn, and not far from Golden Pond you'll find Kauppi Lake which is a pretty lake. While you're here at Golden Pond you will meet lots of people from nearby Duluth; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's                  for you then, we recommend Cloquet River. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on St. Louis River, and if you came for an overnight stay Ico Campground is a glorious location to camp. Having a pleasant time at Golden Pond is trouble-free.
