The beauty of Goche Lake is reason enough to stop by. Hiking along the Simpson Creek Trail System is splendid fun. There's so much to do here at Goche Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Plug Hat Point Campground Recreating and Picnic Area is a fine site for that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Goche Lake has to offer, you can camp at Six Mile Campground. Lakes?

| | Sure, Demro Lake is in close proximity. Goche Lake is right by the South Highbanks Trail System, and if you need a site to stay Trappers Landing Lodge is a tremendous choice. There are other sites here than Goche Lake, for example Nushka Lake; do take a hike on the Mud Lake Trail System. For the duration of the summertime highs here at Goche Lake reach the 80's. Mabel Lake Campground
 | 14 miles away ...r favorite Minnesota campgrounds and we stay here several times each summer. We love that it is right on a lake and that many of the sites have their own little beach. The campground is quiet and the sites˙ are screened from one another for privacy. I hate to even post a review out of the fear that our favorite camping secret will become everyone's camping favorite. It is close enough to Longville˙ and Remer that you can run in for ice and supplies as needed. One small hint that I will pass on is that you might want to stop in Longville or Hackensack to buy your˙ firewood as the campground does not have any for sale.Mabel Lake campground is not on a campsite reservation system but we have never had a problem finding a site here. We discovered this campground as a result of finding one of the more popular Leech Lake campgrounds full. Once we found Mabel Lake, we never bothered with the other campgrounds in the area again. Mabel Lake is rustic so those seeking hook-ups, flush toilets, and running water best move on to the more crowded campgrounds on Leech Lake and leave us to our own p... |
