Nine Mile Creek Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here, and camping at Town and Country Campground is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Hyland Ski is a very popular ski area nearby, and Lake Girard is not the only place nearby, Marsh Lake is a nearby lake. Lake Girard is not far at all from Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington; a visit to Mississippi National River & Recreation Area is recommended.                  Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Girard while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Girard dip into the 0's. So much enjoyable stuff right next door to Lake Girard, absolutely fantastic.
