G-2 Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Cloquet River, and Americinn - Cloquet, Mn is a wonderful spot to get some rest. A day on the slopes of Spirit Mountain is just what you need; not far from G-2 Pond you'll discover Bob Lake which is a lovely lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Park Lake is nearby, and camping is available at Park Lake Resort and Campgrounds.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
