Minnesota has many beautiful lakes and Fredrickson Lake is one of them. Throughout the long summer days at Fredrickson Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and the night is slightly cooler of course, generally in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Fredrickson Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Fredrickson Lake; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is February. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Little Cannon River Dam, and unsurprisingly, this is a glorious region for folks who like lakes, Lake Byllesby is a lake close by. | |

Fredrickson Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Lebanon Hills Regional Park Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby; there's whitewater on Vermilion River for all you adrenaline junkies. This lake
is so wonderful. Fredrickson Lake is not far at all from Red Wing; after a long day outdoors Country Inn And Suites By Carlson Hastings is a great place to spend a night or two. This place, Fredrickson Lake, it clearly has so much
outdoors entertaining stuff. Playing golf is lots of fun at Cannon Falls Golf Club, and Cannon Falls Campground is a fine local campground. Why not explore close by Little Cannon River while you're here at Fredrickson Lake, and a great nearby hotel is Best Western Saratoga Inn.

Afton Alps
 | 11 miles away Excellent ski hill to bring the kids to, huge number of lifts that serve all abilities which is important when you have kids because they're all at different ages all the time. There's always a perfect lift for everyone in the family....Afton Alps has so many runs, you'll never get bored. Great skiing for the whole family, mainly easy runs but there are a few hard ones too. I recommend this ski area to anyone who likes to ski.... |
Welch Village

WELCH VILLAGE RESORT EXPANSION Welch Village Resort announced in April 2008 that contracts had been negotiated with the key equipment suppliers to enable opening of their back bowl slopes for the 2008-09 winter season. A new four passenger chairlift designed by Doppelmayr CTEC, the leading manufacturer of ski lifts in the world, is under construction for the west side of the Back Bowl. Snowmaking for the twelve new slopes includes 7000 feet of pipe, four new Polecat fan units from SMI Snow Makers, and 30 York Watersticks from Johnson Controls. A new Piston Bully snow grooming machine has been purchased from Kassbohrer ATV to enable daily grooming of the new, mostly advanced slopes. Construction of the new slopes and equipment is on schedule, aimed at opening Dec. 26, 2008. Opening of the new slopes will add terrain features substantially different from the fifty runs now open to skiers and snowboarders at Welch Village.
