Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. On a great day at Fool Lake you can take a hike along the Rib Lake Trail; you can hit the slopes at Lutsen close by. If you come at the right time of year, Temperance River offers some brilliant whitewater, and if you came for an overnight stay Baker Lake Campground is a good site to camp. If you need a place to stay Americinn - Tofte, Mn is a tremendous       choice. Dawkins Creek is in the neighborhood of Fool Lake and is always a pleasure to take a look at, and why not camp at Gunflint Pines while you're here at Fool Lake. Fool Lake is a good site of typical rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Fool Lake through the months of summer are in the 70's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes                  with highs in the 10's, and night lows in the-10's for Fool Lake. There is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Fool Lake called the Granite River Portage; after a long day outdoors Caribou Highlands Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
