The beauty of Fishhook Lake is reason enough to stop by. Crow Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and what would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen. Caribou Highlands Lodge is a wonderful spot to get some rest, and camping at Cascade River Campground is always a wonderful experience. 8 Motel - Grand Marais is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Eagle Lake, and the South Lake Portage is a great hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Fishhook Lake
gets a normal amount of rainfall; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February. Camping is available at Devil Lake Campground; if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the North Shore State Trail.

Two Island Lake Campground
 | 10 miles away I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
