Many people like to go to First Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Island Lake Resort is a tremendous place to camp; Country Inn By Carlson Detroit Lakes is a magnificent location to get some rest. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Fosston is a good choice, and if you get bored of First Lake you could also have a look at close by Third Lake. If you're a golfer then a fine close by course is Fosston Golf Club.

Union Lake Campground is a nice place, but does not cater to the weekend camper. Unless you have a boat, there is nothing to do except sit around the fire and drink. The seasonal campers are friendly and welcome company for a chat. The bath house has been updated and is better, but there is a charge for showering, (...) The managers are fairly strict, (...) - and you can't blame them! Book well ahead of time if you want a weekend spot!!!!...Union Lake Sarah campground is nice and clean and quiet.It could use more weekend electrical sites. Mgr Joel is adorable, but his wife Char could use some fine tuning in the PR area. They both need to quit smoking for their own good.The seasonal campers are most friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back!!!... |
