From a rain point of view Duck Lake is a rather normal place; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is mostly the driest month. On a great day at Duck Lake you can take a hike along the Canfield Portage, and you can stay the night at Hoodoo Point Campground. Giants Ridge is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and nearby you discover the Echo Trail       which is a perfect hiking trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Mesabi Range. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Duck Lake. This place, the Mesabi Range, has so much outdoors amusing things. There is a magnificent hiking trail near Duck Lake called the Taconite Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Mt Iron, Mn. Throughout the warm months highs here at Duck Lake get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down                  to the 40's. During the winter highs are usually in the 10's while Duck Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-20's. This lake is so wonderful.
