Not far from Douglas Tailings Basin, you'll discover Longyear Lake which is a gorgeous lake. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sturgeon River. Lakes? Sure, Whitney Tailings Basin is nearby. Through the summertime months highs here at Douglas Tailings Basin get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 10's with temperatures       at Douglas Tailings Basin dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Douglas Tailings Basin is a beautiful lake in the Mesabi Range. While you're here at Douglas Tailings Basin you can take a hike along the Link Lake Trail; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Mesaba Country Club is nearby. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Mesabi Range. Forest Heights RV and Mobile Park is a pleasant local campground,                  and do take a hike on the Stingy Lake Trail. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the Mesabi Range. Little Fork River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Snake Trail.
