This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure along the Honeymoon Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Poplar River offers some great whitewater. If the weather is tremendous here at Dogtrot Lake, you can go for a hike along the Pine Portage, and if you need a location to stay Caribou Highlands Lodge is a great choice. Slip Lake is a delightful lake in close proximity to Dogtrot Lake, and Lutsen is       a perfect local ski area. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Temperance River; if you came for an overnight stay Crescent Lake Campground is a fine spot to camp. An average amount of precipitation falls at Dogtrot Lake; the month with most of the rain is August while February is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Dogtrot Lake you can take a hike along the Rib Lake Trail, and a fine                  close by hotel is Americinn - Tofte, Mn. If only every location had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great globe it would be. A delightful lake like Bulge Lake close to Dogtrot Lake is a nice spot to have a look at, and Poplar River Campground is a good campground nearby. Summertime highs at Dogtrot Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's.
