The annual rain here at Dogtrot Lake is about average; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. All through the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Dogtrot Lake. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Dogtrot       Lake. Get dripping wet paddling on Poplar River; the skiing at Lutsen is tremendous. If you came for an overnight stay Poplar River Campground is a fine place to camp, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Honeymoon Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
