The Gneiss Trail offers hiking at its best, and not far from Dogleg Lake you'll find Pellet Lake which is a lovely lake. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do near Dogleg Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Temperance River. Camping is available at Sawbill Campground, and there are other places here than Dogleg Lake, for example Mine Lake. This lake is so wonderful.       Camping at Gunflint Pines is always a magnificent experience, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Maraboeuf Lake Portage. Dogleg Lake gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Take a hike on the Pine Portage, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Lutsen is reasonably near. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Dogleg Lake. When the                  night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's.
