This lake is so wonderful. Doe Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Baker Lake Campground is a splendid local campground. Take a hike on the Pine Portage, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Lutsen is quite near. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Doe       Lake. Hiking along the Granite River Portage is perfect fun, and Lower George Lake is a great lake close by. Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a good location to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Poplar River. There's so much to do here at Doe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Gunflint Pines is a splendid place for that, and it's a nice idea to have a look at Dawkins Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take                  a refreshing hike along the Rib Lake Trail; there are other spots here than Doe Lake, for example Fawn Lake. From a rain point of view Doe Lake is a reasonably normal place; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Doe Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
