Dick Lake is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the North Shore State Trail is pleasant fun; Cascade River is a wonderful whitewater spot close by. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Dick Lake; August is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. For the duration of the summertime months at Dick Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. The cold days of the

| | winter come with highs in the 10's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Dick Lake dip into the-10's. Two Island Lake Campground
 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
