    In Minnesota there are many beautiful lakes, Deposit Lake is one of them. Deposit Lake is right by the Beatty Portage, and camping at Lake Jeanette Campground is always a wonderful experience. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful nearby hotel is Elbow Lake Lodge, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Steep Lake. Through the summertime months at Deposit Lake highs are regularly in the 70's. All through the dark hours  
   of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 10's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Deposit Lake temperatures drop to the-20's.
Take a hike on the Echo Trail, and Deposit Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Sioux River Campground is a pleasant local campground. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Stuart Portage. Lakes? Sure, Bourassa Lake is in the vicinity. An average
 
               amount of rainfall falls at Deposit Lake; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.

...rness out and slowly reeled my bait and felt a nice tug, thinking I had a bass on I came to the surprise to have the biggest bluegill hooked I've ever caught in my life. After measuring the brilliant, blue and purple colored gill I recorded that it was 11 inches long. The fight the gill gave was that of a good two pound black bass. The fish were spawning and I caught 8 more in that same bay that were all gigantic in size. The next trip to the lake was in 2007, and I still thought that maybe the gills I caught were maybe a ''fluke'' and there cant be that many in the lake. To my surprise the lake obviously had changed and we caught a entire fish basket of jumbo gills in less than three hours. The fish were spawning again (we went the same week) and every gill even the smallest one was a jumbo gill. My father mounted one gill that was 12 in long and weighed in at just over 1.75 pounds. Not bad for a lake that 30 years ago didnt really have native panfish. Also, the crappies are gigantic.
