     Why not camp at Lake Jeanette Campground while you're here at Deposit Lake, and going for a hike on the Echo Trail is always a glorious adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Steep Lake is near Deposit Lake, and nearby you stumble on the Beatty Portage which is a pleasant hiking trail. Deposit Lake is a good location of normal precipitation; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest  
   month. You're in all probability hooked on lakes, Bourassa Lake is one of those nearby; Elbow Lake Lodge is a fine spot to get some rest.
For the period of the summer here at Deposit Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Deposit Lake temperatures dip to the-20's. A great place to camp here at Deposit
 
               Lake is Sioux River Campground; you can go for a hike on the Stuart Portage. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Deposit Lake.

... and felt a nice tug, thinking I had a bass on I came to the surprise to have the biggest bluegill hooked I've ever caught in my life. After measuring the brilliant, blue and purple colored gill I recorded that it was 11 inches long. The fight the gill gave was that of a good two pound black bass. The fish were spawning and I caught 8 more in that same bay that were all gigantic in size. The next trip to the lake was in 2007, and I still thought that maybe the gills I caught were maybe a ''fluke'' and there cant be that many in the lake. To my surprise the lake obviously had changed and we caught a entire fish basket of jumbo gills in less than three hours. The fish were spawning again (we went the same week) and every gill even the smallest one was a jumbo gill. My father mounted one gill that was 12 in long and weighed in at just over 1.75 pounds. Not bad for a lake that 30 years ago didnt really have native panfish. Also, the crappies are gigantic.
