Summertime highs at Day Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are commonly in the 10's with temperatures at Day Lake dipping down into the-20's through winter nights. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi Range. Lakes are magnificent; Little Ruby Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Day       Lake, and Day Lake is a wonderful location to camp, North Star Campground is a wonderful location. All year is a wonderful time in the Mesabi Range if you fancy the outdoors. The Skeeter Lake Trail System offers hiking at its best; if you come at the right time of year, Big Fork offers some magnificent whitewater.
