Summertime highs at Cross Bay Lake commonly tend to be in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 10's, and night lows through the winter for Cross Bay Lake tend to be in the-10's. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Lutsen, and you can go for a hike on the Granite       River Portage. This lake is so wonderful. Americinn - Tofte, Mn is a great place to get some rest; in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Poplar River. Stay the night at Gunflint Pines, and Temperance River is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. Going for a hike on the Pine Portage is always a magnificent adventure. Dawkins Creek flows through this region, and close by you find the Rib Lake Trail which                  is a wonderful hiking trail. An average amount of rain falls at Cross Bay Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Man, is there a lot of exciting stuff to do close to Cross Bay Lake.
