Going for a hike along the Giese Truck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. There's so much to do here at Cole Lake that you need to camp here for a while, C J's Corral is a perfect place for that. Throughout the summer here at Cole Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are       regularly in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Cole Lake. The annual precipitation here at Cole Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. Hiking along the Headboom Logging Trail is great fun; if you came to camp Savanna Portage State Park is a tremendous place to do that. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater                  paddling on Kettle River. This lake is so wonderful.
