Lakes are such serene sites, why not visit Denley Lake in the vicinity of Chow Lake, and nearby you find the Crooked Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Through the summer months, highs regularly are in the 70's at Chow Lake. When the night sets in temperatures       drop down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 10's with temperatures at Chow Lake dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Stony River, and there are other places here than Chow Lake, for example Fran Lake. What a location this is for outdoors people. If you came for an overnight stay Birch Lake Campground is a good spot to camp, and there is a splendid                  hiking trail nearby called the Kelly Trail. Going for a hike on the Seven Beaver Snowmobile Trail is always a glorious adventure. Chow Lake gets a common amount of rain; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
