After a long day outdoors Super 8 Fosston is a fine spot to spend a night or two; Chief Lake is not the only location close by, Vanose Lake is a close by lake. It is very arid here at Chief Lake usually; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mahnomen Country Club is a pleasant golf course close by. Camping at Cedar Crest Resort is always a fine experience, and a lake

High temperatures at Chief Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's; nighttime lows at Chief Lake through the winter mostly sink into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp New Horizon Resort and Lodge is a good site to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Country Inn By Carlson Detroit Lakes. | |

Union Lake Campground is a nice place, but does not cater to the weekend camper. Unless you have a boat, there is nothing to do except sit around the fire and drink. The seasonal campers are friendly and welcome company for a chat. The bath house has been updated and is better, but there is a charge for showering, (...) The managers are fairly strict, (...) - and you can't blame them! Book well ahead of time if you want a weekend spot!!!!...Union Lake Sarah campground is nice and clean and quiet.It could use more weekend electrical sites. Mgr Joel is adorable, but his wife Char could use some fine tuning in the PR area. They both need to quit smoking for their own good.The seasonal campers are most friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back!!!... |
