Stay the night at Sioux River Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Vermilion River. It's a good idea to take a look at Buck Creek, it's in the vicinity of Chad Lake. Dugout Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and going for a hike along the Canfield Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty of this       area. The annual precipitation here at Chad Lake is about average; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. Be careful coming to Chad Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. If you get bored of Chad Lake, you could also go to nearby Buck Lake; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Beatty Portage. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Chad Lake highs are usually in the 70's,                  and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's with temperatures at Chad Lake dipping down into the-20's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
