In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Temperance River, and not far from Cave Lake you'll hit upon Ferret Lake which is a beautiful lake. A normal amount of rain falls here at Cave Lake; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Cave Lake called the Granite River Portage. That right there is a heap already,

| | but it carries on; Cave Lake has it all. There's so much to do here at Cave Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Crescent Lake Campground is a good spot for that, and what would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen.
