     After a long day outdoors The Mountain Inn is a splendid site to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Cascade River Campground. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 70's at Cascade Lake. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Cascade Lake. Cascade Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall;  
   August is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Why not camp at Crescent Lake Campground since you're here at Cascade Lake, and if you get bored of Cascade Lake you could also go to nearby Babble Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Cascade River is so much fun, and going for a hike on the Height of Land Portage is always a glorious adventure. Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a wonderful location to get
 
               some rest, and nearby you discover the North Shore State Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. A day on the slopes of Lutsen is just what you need; Tomash Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.
Go for a hike on the Rib Lake Trail.

Echo is a nice lake to stop and drop a line when in the Schroeder tofte area. It is just up the road from Nine mile lake campground and has an easy to catch supply of small trout. I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf...
