Carter Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Travelers Country Club 2 is a delightful local campground, and Powder Ridge is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. From a rainfall point of view Carter Lake is a reasonably typical place; during       June this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Mississippi River is a great whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Carter Lake, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes?
