While you're here at Burnt Lake, you could also check out delightful Peterson Lake, and Caribou Highlands Lodge is a tremendous place to get some rest. Burnt Lake gets a typical amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at Burnt Lake you can take a hike along the Honeymoon Trail; get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Temperance River.

When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 10's, and overnight lows at Burnt Lake through the winter usually plunge into the-10's. a charming lake; hey, Gotta ski right? Lutsen is a fine site to do that. There is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Burnt Lake called the Pine Portage, and a fine place to camp here at Burnt Lake is Baker Lake Campground.
