     Bug Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Ico Campground is a pleasant local campground, and drift down the rapids of St. Louis River in a kayak. At Bug Lake you always meet someone from Duluth; if you come at the right time of year, Cloquet River offers some splendid whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Lodge At Giants Ridge is a good choice, and swing by Bug Creek it's a magnificent site to visit. Dry warm beds  
   await you at Super 8 Eveleth; camping at Cloquet River Inn is always a fine experience.
Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a splendid time here at Bug Lake. Lakes are such serene sites, why not go to Lily Lake next to Bug Lake, and you can hit the slopes at Spirit Mountain close at hand. You'll come across a pretty lake called Pioneer Lake near Bug Lake. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Bug Lake; the month with most of the rain is June, and
 
               the driest month is February.
High temperatures at Bug Lake through the long summer days are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 10's with temperatures at Bug Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.

We are always listed as a resort with cabin rentals. our 7 site seasonal campground that has not had an opening for several years, so it is never listed under campgrounds. The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume....
