Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail; Riverview Campground is a nice local campground. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a fine choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the neighborhood       of Buck Lake. You'll find a charming lake called Chain Lakes near Buck Lake; since you're here you can take a hike along the Markville Snowmobile Trail. Summertime highs at Buck Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 10's while Buck Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. East Fork Crooked Creek is one of the streams                  close by that might be worth going to, and if you come at the right time of year, St. Croix River offers some good whitewater.
